The past weeks, I’ve been on my usual round of jumping around email clients. I was on Proton for quite a long time, then I figured I would go back to Apple and iCloud+, which then led me back to Fastmail. The sad thing is that I have jumped all around these different providers before. On all of them, I spend a ton of time tweaking, setting up filters, add domains, etc…
What I have realized is I was just making email too complicated. Too many ways to configure and filter, folders or labels, so on and so forth. Let alone the four or five domains I move around for email. It’s just too much effort for something I’m usually never pleased with in the end. So, I moved back to “Hey!”.
I’ve always loved Hey and all of its features, I like the way it deals with the email, I like that it has “Hey! World” for blogging, and it has a calendar and journal now. I used to think hey was too expensive. But with the features it has now, it’s pretty much just as competitive as the rest and forces me to just take things as they are; I don’t spend forever tweaking.
So, I have forwards set for all my domain emails and I will slowly lead people to my “Hey!” address. I think I can stick with this choice, let alone you pay by the year, so I will be here at least that long.
Cheers! Tim
